![]() Once my subscription runs out I test other providers. (Since its europe we are not talking a lot of distance.) iTop VPN has over 1,800 servers worldwide, which is more than enough to ensure good performance. The VPN has earned 3.9/5.0 stars rating overall. The service has 140+ servers in 35 countries, none of which are capable of unblocking US Netflix, but it boasts superior privacy features and a zero-logging policy. It also has a few extra security features and an ad blocker built in. IVPN is a Gibraltar based VPN service available at a costly 6.00/mo for the standard plan. Its security setup appears to be adequate, with a good no-logging policy to boot. Its a reliable mid-tier VPN with a few major flaws. I usually use the fastest server option but excluding my own country. Since 2016, iTop has been on the VPN market. In other scenarios single digit mb/s download speeds. Download speeds are not even CLOSE to what my connection is capable of. Watching normal youtube can sometimes lead to the video having to buffer. Which makes the experience of browsing the web rather unpleasant. Enabling the VPN client on Windows increases the loadtimes of websites up to a whole minute! Usually easily 10 seconds. With IVPN I only ever use it when I need it for something. In the past I left the VPN running for like >60% of the time. I would like to repeat that none of these issues were present in using other VPN Providers. I even switched the ISP AND Internet technology in between the usage. (Enabling/Disabling all the features and switching between openvpn and wireguard.) I tried to troubleshoot the issues multiple times over the years but with no success. I have been using IVPN now for about 2 years and I can't say that things have improved. ![]() IVPN is my third VPN Provider and while in the past I didn't have a gigabit internet connection (therefore less to complain about speed) I can say that other vpn's didn't have as an impact as the IVPN client. On multiple machines enabling the vpn degrades the experience significantly. ![]() I am mainly using windows and firefox combined with a gigabit connection. I was about to make a post in the opposite direction.
